A very happy saturday! Thanks for stopping by again. We just had a great tutorial by Nette about coloring with Copics. If you missed this one you really should go here to see it.
Nestabilities Label 8
und natürlich ein Stempelmotiv
Here´s what you need besides those usual things like glue:
cardstock, 10 3/4" x 7 1/8" (or 27 x 18 cm) for the box itself
2 x cardstock, 3 3/4" x 5 1/8" (oder 9,5 x 13 cm) for covers
another piece of cardstock, ca. 6 x 4" (or 15 x 10 cm)
Nestabilities Label 8
some designers paper
and of course a stamped image
Score the cardstock for the box at 1 1/4" (3 cm) from both sides having the shorter side ligned up with the top of your Scorpal. Turn it aroun 90° so the longer side is on top now and score the cardstock at 1 1/4", 4 3/4", 6" and 9 1/2" (3, 12, 15 and 24 cm).
Pre-fold the scorelines and make little cuts as shown on the picture.
Now assemble your box by glueing those little pieces you got from cutting the paper to the bigger side parts. Use a strong glue for this. You´ll get a box with the lid connected to it like i. e. a pizza box.
Now use the 2 smaller pieces of cardstock. If you want to you can round the corners. I then used some dark brown ink to ink up the edges. I love using a normal sponge like you use in the kitchen which I put in a paper clip which makes working easier - and you won´t get too much ink on your fingers. And the structur in the sponge is giving a nice look.
Fix the cardstock to the top and bottom of your box. It should be in one line with the closed side of the box. On the side that opens it is slightly bigger than your box.
Now it´s time to add some designer´s paper to the front cover - if you want to (yes, I forgot to do this on the pics and added it later...). I cut the designer´s paper slightly smaller than the cardstock and rounded the corners on this one as well.
Search for the middle of your label and score it lengthwise 5/8" (1,5 cm) to the left and right. If you want you can ink up the edges again.
Take some ribbon, about 20" long (50 cm), and fix it with some tape on the box as shown on the picture.
Fix your Label on the box. It´ll hold the ribbon down and also cover the tape. Adhear the glue around the edge of your label but also next to the scored lines.
All you have to do now is decorating your box in any way you want and close it with a nice big bow.
I hope you liked my box and we would love you to share your creations with us!
