Spellbinders Rahmen / frames

Spellbinders/Nestabilities Stanzformen (shapes) gibt es mittlerweile in jeder erdenklichen Form. Leider gibt es sie nur in bestimmten Größen und habt ihr mal versucht ein Motiv mit einer größeren Größe aus dem gleichen Set zu matten (Matte = eine weitere Schicht Papier)?

Nowadays you can buy Spellbinders/Nestabilities shapes in every imaginable shape. Unfortunately you can only get them in specific sizes. Did you ever try to mat (mat = another layer of paper) your image with one of the bigger shapes from the same set?

Das würde dann ungefähr so aussehen... was ich für meine Motive nicht wirklich als optimal empfinde. Also habe ich heute einen Tipp für euch, wie ihr euch ganz einfach selbst einen smaleren Rahmen für euer Motiv machen könnt.

It would look like this... but I don't want such big frames around my images. This is why I have a tip for you today how to make yourself smaller frames for your images.

Erst einmal stempelt ihr euer Motiv auf. Ich empfehle euch dieses immer VOR dem Stanzen zu tun, denn wenn ihr euch doch mal verstanzt wäre es zu schade, um das bereits fertig colorierte Motiv!

First stamp your image. I'm always cutting my images out BEFORE coloring. It would be a pity for a fresh colored image if you would make a mistake while cutting!

Ich fixiere meine Stanzform sogar immer noch mit Tesafilm, welches ich vorher mindestens drei Mal auf meinen Finger klebe und wieder abziehe, damit es mir das Papier später beim Abziehen nicht zerreißt!

You see I'm fixing my shapes with scotch-tape before cutting. I'm always adding the scotch- tape to my finger three times before using it on my papers, because otherwise it could burst my paper when taking off the scotch-tape.

Ihr stanzt also erst euer Motiv aus...

Now cut your image...

... sucht euch dann passendes/-n Papier/Cardstock aus, aus welchem ihr den Rahmen ausschneiden möchtet, legt die gleiche Stanzform noch einmal auf das neue Papier und zeichnet mit dem Bleistift außen herum. (Das Motiv liegt hier auf dem Bild nur zur Veranschaulichung noch einmal im Spellbinder)

... search for a matching paper/cardstock, then use the same shape again and draw around it with a pen. (I only added the image to show you the frame's size here on this picture)

Wie ihr hier schon seht, habt ihr bereits jetzt einen superschönen und genau passenden Rahmen für euer Motiv, den ihr jetzt nur noch per Hand ausschneiden müsst.

Like you can already see here in the picture you will get a wonderful and matching frame for your image. Now you still have to cut it out by hand.

Und schon seid ihr fertig!

Jetzt müsst ihr euer Motiv nur noch colorieren und weiter verarbeiten.

Natürlich geht diese Technik nicht bei allen Spellbinders/Nestabilities, ich würde z. B. davon abraten Formen mit Wellenrand per Hand auszuschneiden, aber die einfachen Formen, zu denen die meisten Labels zählen, funktionieren einwandfrei.

Of course this technique isn't working with all Spellinders/Nestabilities, so I advise not to cut out scallop shapes by hand... but there are many other "easy to cut out by hand" shapes out there and with them it's working perfectly.

Hier habe ich das Innere des Spellbinders Labels 4 als Schablone für das Motiv genommen, den mittleren Rahmen gestanzt und den äußeren Rahmen wieder per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Here I used the inner part from Spellbinders Labels 4 as a template for the image, then cut out the Spellbinders Labels 4 for the first frame. And after that I used the external Spellbinder's edge as a template for the biggest frame and cut the shape out by hand .
