Stempeleinmaleins: Fun Fold Card

Willkommen im Wochenende :) Heute haben wir eine Karte für Euch, die eine zweite Mitteilung oder auch ein weiteres Motiv versteckt.

Welcome to the weekend :) Today we have a card for you with a hidden message or a hidden image.

Für eine Karte in der Größe 10,5 cm x 14,5 cm benötigt Ihr folgende Cardstock-Teile:

1x 10,5 cm x 21,5 cm (Vorderteil) - falzen bei 7 cm
1x 10,5 cm x 22,5 cm (Mittelteil) - in der Mitte falzen
1x 10,5 cm x 14,5 cm (Rückseite)

Ich habe die Teile zur Veranschaulichung in unterschiedlichen Farben geschnitten, so kann man das Prinzip der Karte besser sehen.

For a card with the measures 10,5 cm x 14,5 cm you'll need these pieces of cardstock:

1x 10,5 cm x 21,5 cm (front) - fold at 7 cm
1x 10,5 cm x 22,5 cm (middle) - fold in the middle
1x 10,5 cm x 14,5 cm (back)

I used different colours of cardstock, so you're able to see how it works.

Das Vorderteil und das Mittelteil werden mit Fenstern versehen. Hierzu nehmt das gefaltete Mittelteil und legt es am Vorderteil an und stanzt durch 3 Blätter durch (mit der Stanzmaschine oder auch einer Handstanze). Wenn das zu dick ist, müsst Ihr in mehreren Schritten stanzen. Aussehen sollten Eure Teile dann wie oben auf dem Bild. Achtet darauf, dass das Fenster nicht zu groß ist, da sonst der schmalere Teil des Vorderteils in das Fenster ragt.

The front part and the middle part are provided with windows. To do this, take the folded center piece and attach it to the front piece and punch through 3 sheets (with your die-cutting machine or a hand punch). If that's too thick, you'll have to punch in several steps. Your parts should look like shown in the picture. Make sure that the window is not too big, otherwise the narrower part of the front part will protrude into the window.

Die eine Hälfte des Mittelteils wird nun exakt auf die Rückseite des Vorderteils aufgeklebt.

One half of the middle part is now glued exactly on the back of the front part.

Der versteckte Text befindet sich auf dem kleineren Teil des Vorderteils. Ihr müsst Euch hier an dem gestanzten Fenster orientieren. Am besten stempelt Ihr durch das Fenster durch, wenn die Karte aufgeklappt ist.

The hidden text is located on the smaller part of the front part. You have to orient yourself here by the punched window. The best way to stamp through the window, when the card is opened.

Um Euer Motiv oder den Text, den man vorn auf der Karte sehen soll, zu platzieren, legt Ihr den vorderen Kartenteil auf die Rückseite und markiert die Stelle oder stempelt direkt dorthin. Auf der Rückseite bringt Ihr Kleber wie auf dem Foto zu sehen an und klebt den vorderen Teil fest.

To place your design or the text you want to see on the front of the card, place the front part of the card on the back and mark the spot or stamp there. Add some adhesive on the back piece of cardstock as shown in the picture and stick the front part firmly.

Wenn Ihr die Karte nun aufklappt, verschwindet langsam der "Text 1" und "Text 2" schiebt sich davor.

When you open the card, the "Text 1" disappears slowly and "Text 2" moves in front of it.

Der hintere Teil der Karte wird nicht weiter festgeklebt, da der Schiebemechanismus sonst nicht funktioniert.

The back of the card will not be glued, because otherwise the sliding mechanism will not work.

Ich habe eine Karte zum 40. Geburtstag meines Bruders gemacht, leider kann man das Embosste auf den Fotos nicht so gut einfangen ...

Heute haben wir mal wieder eine besondere Kartenform für Euch - eine Fun Fold Card. Unter diesem Namen findet man im WWW viele verschiedene Karten. Hier handelt es sich um eine Karte mit einem Ausschnitt in der Front, in dem ein Motiv zu sehen ist. Öffnet man die Karte, dreht sich das Motiv mit und ist dann innen auf der Karte zu sehen.

Today we have another special card for you - a Fun Fold Card. If you g**gle this, you'll find different cards. Our Fun Fold Card has a cut out window in the front in which there is an image. If you open the card, the panel with the image turns and the image can then be seen on the inside.

Es gibt auch hier wieder eine Schneiddatei für Euch - einmal für eine quadratische Variante in der Größe 14,5 x 14,5 cm HIER und dann noch eine rechteckige in den Maßen 10,8 x 14 cm HIER. Für alle ohne Schneidplotter haben wir aber natürlich auch wieder eine "normale" Schritt für Schritt Anleitung.

Again we have a cutting file for you to download - there's a square version measuring 14,5 x 14,5 cm HERE and a rectangle one measuring 10,8 x 14 cm HERE. For all of you without a plotter we made a "normal" step by step tutorial.

Ich mache hier erstmal die quadratische Variante, für die andere gibt es dann die Maße am Ende des Posts. Ihr braucht also:

- 1 Stück Cardstock 29 x 14,5 cm
- 1 Stück Cardstock 21,5 x 11,5 cm
- 1 Stück Cardstock 9,8 x 9,8 cm
- Papierschneider, Kleber, Schere
- eine rechteckige Stanze von 10 x 10 cm (oder Ihr schneidet das mit der Hand)

I'll make the square version here and the instructions for the rectangle one can be found at the end of this tutorial. So you'll need:
- 1 piece of cardstock 29 x 14,5 cm
- 1 piece of cardstock 21,5 x 11,5 cm
- 1 piece of cardstock 9,8 x 9,8 cm
- cutter, scissors, glue
- a square cutting die measuring 10 x 10 cm (you can also handcut this)

Als erstes wird der große Cardstock an der langen Seite bei 14,5 cm gefalzt. Schneidet dann mittig aus der Kartenfront ein Fenster von 10 x 10 cm - entweder mit einer passenden Stanze oder mit der Hand.

First score the bigger piece of cardstock at the long side at 14,5 cm. Then cut a window out of the card front. Make the window centered and 10 x 10 cm in size either using a cutting die or your good old scissors.

Als nächtes wird die lange Seite des kleineren Cardstockstücks bei 2 cm, 8,5 cm und 15 cm gefalzt.

Next score the smaller piece of cardstock at the long side at 2 cm, 8,5 cm and 15 cm.

Legt dann das kleinere Stück Cardstock mittig innen in die aufgeklappte Karte und markiert euch an der Seite, die mit dem 2cm-Falz beginnt, wo sich das Fenster befindet. Schneidet dann von Eurer Markierung bis zum Falz ein und schneidet den mittleren Teil heraus.

Then put the smaller piece of cardstock centered inside the opened card and mark at the side which starts with the 2 cm fold, where you're window is. Then cut from your window marks to the 2 cm fold and cut out the inner part.

Legt dann den Cardstockstreifen wieder innen in die Karte, achtet darauf, dass die Mittelfalz der Karte und der 8,5cm-Falz genau aufeinander liegen und gleichzeitig Euer Fenster genau zwischen den beiden "Nasen" bzw. Resten des 2cm-Streifens liegt.

Now put the strip of cardstock back into the card and make sure that the card fold and the 8,5 cm fold are on top of each other and at the same time the cut out window is exactly between those two "notches" or left over pieces of the 2cm fold strip.

Hebt dann vorsichtig die rechte Hälfte an, tragt nur auf das erste Feld Kleber auf und klebt es an. Auf meinem Bild habe ich nach dem Kleben den Cardstockstreifen angehoben, um zu zeigen, dass nur das erste Feld festgeklebt ist.

Then carefully lift the right end of the cardstock, put glue only to the first area of the strip and glue it to the card base. For my picture I lifted the strip after glueing it down to show that only the right panel is attached to the base.

Eure Karte liegt immer noch offen vor Euch. Tragt auf die Oberseite der beiden "Nasen" Kleber auf, faltet den Cardstockstreifen ziehharmonikaartig an allen Falzen und schließt dann Eure Karte. Die beiden Nasen kleben dann innen ober- und unterhalb des Fensters aber hinter dem ersten kompletten Panel, also so:

The card still lies flat and opened in front of you. Put glue to the two "notches", accordeon fold the cardstock strip to the right and carefully close your card. The two notches will now stick above and under the window to the inside of your card but in a way that the notches are hidden behind the cardstock strip. It looks like this:

Schließt dann die Karte und klebt den Cardstock mit den Maßen 9,8 x 9,8 cm mittig durch das Fenster NUR auf den inneren Cardstockstreifen (in meinem Fall weiß).

Now close the card and glue the cardstock square measuring 9,8 x 9,8 cm centered into the window but ONLY to the inner carstock strip (white on my project).

Das wars schon - jetzt kann dekoriert werden!

Noch eine Anmerkung - natürlich könnt Ihr die Größe des Fensters verändern oder durch eine andere Form ersetzen. Achtet aber darauf, dass es nur so groß ist, dass trotzdem noch etwas des 2-cm-Falzes oben und unten übrig bleibt, denn dies stabilisiert den inneren Streifen.

That's it - now have fun decorating!

I also wanted to mention that of course you can change the size of your window or use a different shape. Just make sure that it is only that big so a bit of the 2cm fold strip stays on top and under the window because these notches stabilize the inner cardstock strip.
